Kahvin hinta saattaa nousta kevättalvella. Kansainvälisen kahvijärjestön ICO:n mukaan huonommat sadot ja kahvinjuonnin kasvu talouskriisistä huolimatta nostavat hintaa ensi vuonna. Tämä koskee erityisesti arabica-laatua, kertoo E24-sivusto.

Vietnamin sadon ennustetaan vähenevän yli 20 prosenttia rankkojen sateiden vuoksi. Vietnamin osuus maailman kahvintuotannosta on noin 15 prosenttia.
Satojen huononemisen vanavedessä kahvin kulutuksen arvioidaan kasvavan 2-2,5 prosentin vuosivauhtia.
ICO arvioi maailmanlaajuisen kahvinkulutuksen olevan kuluvana vuonna 132 miljoonaa säkkiä. Edellisvuonna kahvia juotiin 130 miljoonaa säkkiä.
